The Fray!

Last week was the academic awards for the freshmen and sophomores. Everyone looked so nice, and it was a great night. All of the sophomores were surprised to find out we have three people tied for valedictorian: Colleen Cassidy, who was our valedictorian last year, Sean Siburn, and Brian Hartnett, who was our salutatorian last year. Tomorrow is our class elections, and there are a lot of people running for next year’s president and vice president.

Pretty much everything is coming to an end for the school year, and there are only 2 weeks left until finals, and 21 days until summer vacation! This past weekend was my sweet 16 with my best friend Jenna, and one of my gifts from my friend Allison were tickets to go see The Fray in concert at PNC Bank on June 19th! I am so excited and it is going to be a great start to my summer.

Sweet 16!

Hi guys; a lot has happened in two weeks. It’s almost June, I cannot believe it. Memorial Day weekend was exhausting with two sweet sixteen’s, but that just makes me even more excited for mine. I don’t think I have mentioned this yet but my sweet 16 is June 6th and is on the beach! I went shopping for favors yesterday and got beach mats and volleyballs; I hope the guest loves them. I have limbo, volleyball, and of course the water; but it will be too cold to swim. I wanted to do something different because by the end of the year you get kind of sick of hall parties. The beach is private and just for my party. Oh, and my cake is a sand castle! Now a special thing about sweet 16s is the candles. I don’t think I am going to do candles because I really can’t decide who should get my 16th – aka the most important candle. I have a tie between two friends and I don’t want them to be mad at me, candles are so stressful! My real concern is the weather; I really hope it doesn’t rain! That would be such my luck; and if it does I have a rain date, but then I would need another cake. I have so much to do with such little time, I still need an outfit. Schools ending and summers beginning and I think I can speak for everyone when I say we are all busy

Oh we had our academic awards the other night and I just wanted to say congratulations to Colleen, Sean, and Brian – the three students who have tied for first place of our class!!!!!

Everything Coming to a Close

So this week is super crazy. Last night was one of the phone-a-thons, which I attended with 8 other sophomores. I had never done it before, and some of us were uncomfortable at first, but it got much better. Today I have my first day at work, and I’m super excited. Tonight is the freshmen and sophomore Academic awards starting at 7. I’m interested to see who the valedictorians are for both classes. The spring sports are winding down, and the teams are getting close to their last games and matches. I have my last golf match tomorrow vs. GL. I know I am going to miss the team, as most players will. Then, tomorrow night is the Spring Athletic Banquet at the Westwood, the last one for all senior athletes. Some people will be getting their varsity letters for the first time, but mostly others will be returning varsity athletes.

Also, coming up soon is the freshmen, sophomore and junior trip to Six Flags, which we are all excited for. :]

Sophomore olympics!

Hi so I forgot to tell you all about Sophomore Olympics. Woo 221! These Olympics are obviously just for the sophomores and we go through various challenges to be able to take the champion plaque and put in your homeroom. So first my homeroom got separated into two groups and then we made our way down to the cafeteria. Our first event was a hula hoop challenge, we won! Then we made our way to the gym to play waffle ball and volleyball twice; well we lost those three. After four events we had snacks and then went to the auditorium for the academic challenge. You picked three people to represent your homeroom, I was one chosen. Going into the academic challenge we had 3 wins total (a combination of my whole homeroom) out of 8, it wasn’t looking so good. When the academic challenge began my homeroom had answered every single question right and made it to the third round! It was homeroom 221 against 223. 223 had won 6 out of 8 events and had beaten us in the third round of the academic challenge. We all went back to our seats and waited for the announcement of the winner! In third place….226! In second place…..223. Everyone stood there shocked! And in first place….221! My homeroom looked at each other, clapped, and then realized that this was us!!!!!! We definitely thought we had come in last. Last year we won spirit award. I really love my homeroom. 221<3>
