This year is the year for sweet 16s. It is the party for a girl coming of age, a night when she wears a beautiful dress, dances with her family and friends, and gives out her candles to the most important people in her life. It is a huge night for her.
This past weekend, I attended my first sweet 16 party for my friend Colleen. Everyone looked amazing, especially Colleen. We were assigned seats and my table was the best. She did her candles and we danced all night. She looked so happy, and everyone had a great time. After that night, I was so in the mood for another one. I talked to my mom and decided to have a sweet 16 myself. Although many months in advanced, I started thinking and planning.
Also, this weekend High School Musical 3 came out. I love the series, so I was so ecstatic when this one came out. I went opening night with my friend Michelle, and we knew almost every song. Sitting in a theater filled with kids and parents, we awaited excitedly for the movie to start. We sang loudly, said “aww” at the appropriate times, and cheered when it was over. There are a ton of other kids my own age who like High School Musical to my surprise, so don’t feel like it is too young for you, because it totally isn’t!
